Before preparing the information to migrate from Consuman to Consuman Evolution, it is important to know some general differences between the two systems.
These considerations apply to different entities and should be taken into account during the review and cleaning of data.
Record names
The Description field used in Consuman to identify records is renamed Name in Consuman Evolution.
In Consuman, records with the same description could exist as long as they had a different key. In Consuman Evolution, however, the Name must be unique within each entity .
For this reason, before performing the migration it may be necessary to modify or add to some names to avoid duplicates.
The criteria for resolving duplicate names depend on each entity and are detailed in the corresponding articles.
Clue
The Key field is maintained in Consumer Evolution, but its behavior changes.
In Consuman, the password is mandatory and, if it is not completed manually, the system generates one automatically.
In Consumer Evolution, the key is optional. If left blank, it is not automatically generated, as the Name becomes the primary identifier for the record.
Additional information
Consumer Evolution has standard fields to record the main information of each entity.
When a piece of data used in Consuman does not have an equivalent field in Consuman Evolution, it can be configured as an Additional Data item , provided that it is appropriate to retain such information.
Customized technical data used in Consuman can also be transferred in this way, after defining the corresponding data type.
Before transferring information as Additional Data, it is recommended to check if it is still necessary in Consumer Evolution.
Import Excel files
In Consuman, data migration is performed using a single Excel file composed of different sheets. In Consuman Evolution, however, each entity has its own import file , which can be downloaded from the corresponding screen.
